[Kernel] Freez Ryzen 3

Salut,

je viens de monter une nouvelle config avec les composants suivants :

carte mère MSI x370 gaming plus
processeur Ryzen 3 2200G
8go de ram G Skill ddr4 2400Mhz

J'ai des freez à répétions depuis le début. En me renseignant j'ai bien vu des problèmes avec le Ryzen mais c'est plutôt lors du passage en stage C6, J'ai passé le mode idle dans le bios en ''typically use'' plutôt que Auto, mais de toute façons le PC plante soit au boot soit en pleine charge du proc.

Salut lesebas,

Je n'ai pas vraiment d'idées précises mais tu peux chercher parmi ces pistes si ça n'est pas déjà fait:
_ Le bios est-il à jour ? Envisager un upgrade ou un downgrade .
_ C6_state activé ou désactivé.
_ Tests de différents paramètres passés au noyau quoique pas sûr que ça aide maintenant avec les noyaux actuels la plupart des options sont déjà inclues (à vérifier).

D'après ce que j'ai lu de manière générale l'option dans le bios, quand elle est disponible, "Typical Idle Current" solutionne le problème pour la plupart des d'utilisateurs.
Mais avec la variété de matériel existant et les multiples combinaisons possibles entre les distributions qui n'utilisent 1/ pas la même version de noyau et 2/ pas les mêmes options passées au noyau font que rien n'est écrit définitivement comme étant la solution.

@ Coudur, merci pour les liesn que j'ai déja visté effectivement.

J'ai passé le bios en Typical idel current mais ça ne change pas grand chose. Surtout que moi le problème est au boot ou en pleine charge!

J'ai aussi trouvé ce lien ou l'on suggère de désactiver iommu. Je l'ai fait dans le bios et via les paramètres du kernel. Ça plante toujours au boot (de manière aléatoire), à tester si ça améliore les plantages en utilisation.

Je vais lancer un memtest aujourd'hui, on ne sait jamais! J'ai acheté 2 config identiques pour mes 2 fils, il faut que je termine le montage de la deuxième et je verrai bien si j'ai les mêmes problèmes.

Je demande parce que si cela fait quelque chose comme 4 mois que ta configuration plante c'est que le problème peut résider ailleurs.
Question subsidiaire Windows est-il installé ? si oui plante-t-il également ? c'est un moyen de savoir si le problème provient de ta config. ou de la version du noyau / Linux inside.

Est-ce que c'est une config. montée par toi-même ? si c'est le cas as-tu vérifié la compatibilité de ta RAM avec les préconisations du constructeur de la carte mère MSI en l’occurrence.
Désolé de poser toutes ces questions qui peuvent sembler basiques mais parfois on peut involontairement passer au travers des recommandations usuelles.

Je réitère mon point concernant le bios, fais attention à ta version AGESA!
Chez MSI, mais ils ne sont pas les seuls, les versions sont avancées c'est pourquoi dans mon premier poste j'ai parlé d'envisager un downgrade du bios. Le dernier bios pour ton modèle de carte mère embarque la v1.0.0.4c (qui comporte quelques bug) tandis que le précédent est la v1.0.0.2a (qui doit aussi comporter des bugs mais moins bloquant).

Dans tes messages d'erreurs j'ai vu qu'il y avait des lignes liées à la partie graphique du coup j'ai trouvé ceci qui devrait t'intéresser également:

Depuis le début ca veut dire depuis 2 semaines et que j'ai monté cette config. Ca plantait même au démarrage sur la clef USB avec l'image archlinux. Au début j'ai cru que c'était ma clef. Ce soir je viens de monter la deuxième config identique pour mon autre fils : impossible de booter sur la clef : écran noir ou kernel panic. Je désactive iommu et pass en Typical idel current : ca me permet de booter sur la clef. Pas de windows installé.

Pas vu de preco dans le guide de l'utilisateur sur la marque, juste indiqué jusque 4 barettes DDR4 64GB. 2400Mhz fait parti des fréquences compatibles. J'ai fait un memtest aujourd'hui : pas d'erreur.

J'ai acheté une mise à jour du bios sur la dernière version. Je creuserai en dernier recours, car si j'ai bien lu les premières versions de BIOS ne supportent pas Ryzen. Il faut donc que je regarde précisément vers quelle version downgrader

Plutôt sur la partie graphique (jeu), idem au boot c'est à l'affichage de lightdm.

Ce qui est plutôt positif c'est qu'à priori d'autres versions de noyaux ont l'air plus stables : LTS ou 4.19Rc1. Je vais tenter le LTS dès que possible.

Si la "release candidate" 4.19 est plus à jour que le noyau actuel, je ne pense pas qu'elle soit plus stable que celui-ci.

Bon j'ai installé linux-lts mais impossible de démarrer xfce. Pas de problème sur le noyau standard. Je n'ai pas vu de pilote specific AMD GPU pour le lts (comme pour nvidia). J'ai loupé autre chose? le log de xorg:

Hmmm j'ai dis une ânerie en te dirigeant vers ce bug :?
Tu rencontres le même bug mais le lien concerne amd-staging (présent dans AUR) , c'est la version PRO du driver AMD pour Ubuntu, rien à voir avec celui que tu utilises qui je suppose est le noyau d'origine, je t'ai induit en erreur désolé.

En farfouillant sur le net on s'aperçoit que le bug existe depuis des mois et qu'aucune réelle solution n'existe pour l'instant .
Clairement ce qui pose problème c'est le driver pour l'IGPU, il va falloir que tu patientes que les choses s'améliorent .
Tu as peut-être la solution de pouvoir booter avec le paramètre "nomodeset", si ça fonctionne c'est plus une solution temporaire qu'autre chose parce que les performances graphiques seront faiblardes.
Sinon tu as une veille carte graphique qui traîne tu peux essayer de court-circuiter la carte graphique intégrée pour n'utiliser que la carte graphique physique mais je ne garantis rien.

C'est peut-être moins vrai aujourd'hui mais à la sortie des Ryzen1 le choix de la RAM était déterminant sinon l'utilisateur s'exposait à un risque d'instabilité du système(freeze,reboot,etc...) seuls certains modèles de RAM étaient stables d'où la liste, des correctifs ont été apporté au travers des mise a jour successives du BIOS. Avec le Ryzen2 ça semble s'être mieux passé et c'est tant mieux.

Je crois que ce bug ne concerne pas le pilote vidéo, d'ailleurs son CPU n'a pas d'IGPU ceci explique cela .
Les choses pour les CPU Ryzen ne se sont améliorées qu'à partir du 4.15,le LTS étant en 4.14 son CPU ne fonctionnera que sur 3 pattes, mais c'est mieux que rien tu me diras :)

Pas très encourageant tout ça... néanmoins j'ai l'impression que ça se passe mieux avec le noyaux lts. Je l'ai installé sur la deuxième config et aucun crash avec jusqu'à présent (mais uniquement en tty vu que je suis dans la phase installation), alors que sur le 4.18 j'ai des crash régulier au boot! Par contre je ne trouve pas comment démarrer xorg avec le noyau lts. J'ai essayé un

avant de lancer xorg mais c'est pas mieux!

Petit post sur l'inter qui me confirme ce que je craignais, le noyau 4.14 (lts) ne gère pas l'IGPU Vega 8 :

Oui c'est vrai je comprends ta frustration mais malheureusement avec du matériel très récent sous Linux on s'expose à ce type de situation.
Tu fais partie de ceux qui servent de bêta testeur, ton CPU n'a pas 1an d'existence c'est très jeune.
Pour positiver un peu il faut se dire que ça ne peut qu'aller mieux par la suite, les kernels suivant (4.19 & 4.20) ne feront qu'améliorer les choses.
Patience et courage, plus facile à dire qu'à faire je sais :/

Bon j'ai installé le noyau 4.19RC6 c'est nettement mieux! Plus de plantages au démarrage et plus de freez complets. Encore des plantages sur certains jeux quand on pousse les options graphiques au max ou sous steam... vivement le noyau 4.20!

En bootant sur le lts depuis la console (pas besoin de xorg pour ça ). J'ai quand même galeré pour installer le lts car ça plantait un coup sur deux au lancement du mkinitcpio!

Bonjour,

J'ai également renouvelé mon matos informatique, ( CM asus B350 prime-plus + ryzen 3 2200g + carte graphique gtx 1050 ti ) cela fais 6 mois que j'essaye a chaque changement de noyau, malheureusement il m’était impossible d'installer une distribution ( n' importe laquelle d'ailleurs ), mais j'ai réessayer avec un live suivi d'une install de Manjaro, et bingo le noyau 4.19 est arrivé, plus aucun message au boot, et surtout plus de plantage !!!! je vais enfin pouvoir remplacer win 10 qui ma permis d'utiliser mon ordinateur, mais je dois reconnaître qu'il a fait le boulot correctement, maintenant je vais pouvoir revenir à Linux, pourquoi pas une arch cinnamon :)
