Je ne sais pas ce qu'il en est pour toi mais il faut être prudent sur la méthode employée pour modifier ces fichiers (mieux vaut utiliser les outils dédiés qu'utiliser directement un éditeur).

Bon j'ai réessayé avec les éditeurs standards, on verra.
Je ne vois pas ce qui l'empêche, il n'y a que /etc/shadow qui a des cryptages.
Qu'entends tu par outil dédié?
