Hello !

Depuis quelque temps, j'avais remarqué que compiz fusion ne marchait plus, comme j'avais la flemme de chercher d'où venait le problème, je n'ai pas trop poussé plus loin.
Seulement aujourd'hui, je viens de tilter que l'accélération graphique ne marche plus : avec glxgears, j'ai trouvé une vitesse d'affichage impressionnante de 300 fps !

(avec le driver libre ati pour une Radeon 9700)
Même le driver vesa fait mieux avec 500 fps (c'est pour dire !), alors que ma Ubuntu, ça tourne à plus de 1900 fps !
Ca fait un certain temps que je n'avais pas tester d'applis 3D, je viens de tester etracer, ça sacade légèrement beaucoup. Pourtant, je me souviens que lors de ma réinstallation d'Archlinux, fin décembre début janvier, ça marchait nickel.
J'ai l'impression qu'une mise à jour récente de xorg ou du driver libre ati a du foutre un peu la merde à ce niveau là.
Avez-vous le même problème récemment (en gros depuis le début de l'année) ?
Aurais-je raté LA mise à jour de la mort qui tue qui fallait pas faire ?
C'est vrai que j'ai tendance à mettre à jour sans trop refléchir, pourtant je sais bien que c'est problématique sous Archlinux (certains développeurs qui parfois mettent un paquet à jour sans avoir bien testé).

Attention, glxgears n'est pas vraiment un benchmark surtout si tu le lances alors que compiz est lancé.
Peux tu nous donner le résultat:

Utilise les proprio qui gere mieux cette carte, perso j'en suis a 4600 fps avec une 9800 c'est quasiement la meme que la 9700

Enfin bon, je pense pas que ça soit le xorg.conf qui pose problème, ça fait un petit bout de temps que je ne l'ai plus touché, et ça marchait bien début janvier. D'ailleurs, j'ai même repris le xorg.conf d'Ubuntu pour voir, le résultat est le même.
C'est un problème qui est spécifique à Archlinux, j'ai l'impression. Sous Ubuntu, ça fait perpète que je tourne avec le driver libre, j'ai jamais eu ce genre de problème. Tandis que quand j'ai débuté sous Archlinux, ça a été pas mal la merde avec le driver libre ati, ça marchait pas trop mal, la 3D fonctionnait, puis l'ordinateur finissait par freezer et se bloquer complètement au bout d'environ 15min (problème finalement résolu avec les mises à jour du driver ati fin décembre). Ensuite, ça tourne tranquille pendant un bon mois, et maintenant paf, l'accélération graphique ne marche plus correctement, c'est bizarre.

Les rares fois où j'ai essayé le driver propriétaire, il y avait toujours des trucs qui marchaient pas trop (polices minuscules, 3D fonctionne pas, ...), j'ai jamais réussi à le faire fonctionner correctement.

Bon, j'avais oublié de préciser un petit détail : je m'étais amusé il y a quelque temps de compiler mon propre noyau, par curiosité plus qu'autre chose, j'avais modifié quelques trucs par ci par là, principalement au niveau des drivers, et comme il avait l'air de fonctionner, j'ai continué à l'utiliser.
Là, je viens de m'apercevoir qu'en lançant Arch avec le noyau par défaut, que tout marche correctement !
Mea culpa !
Il faut que je fasse un petit plus attention, la prochaine fois !
