Et ce matin la machine ne peut pas finir le démarrage. Cela s'arrête un peu après le chargement de cups, avec un message relative au lancement du serveur graphique.

manque-t-il d'autres logs pour information ? (J'ai un dual-boot avec une Ubuntu, je ne peux pas lancer de commandes journalctl directement, à moins de me procurer un Live Arch ?)

Avec ces infos, sauriez-vous m'aider à réparer mon système ?

Il y avait une annonce: https://archlinux.fr/news/nvidia-340xx-et-nvidia.

Puisque tu utilises une GeForce 8400, il te suffit donc de remplacer le paquet nvidia par nvidia-340xx.

Salut,

J'ai suivi ton conseil, booté en single, installé la version de nvidia citée et au reboot toujours pareil. Pour en avoir le cœur net, j'ai éteint, booté à nouveau, pas de changement. Me fallait partir pour l'après-midi alors ce soir je me suis dit "et si j'essayais avec nouveau ?". Et voilà nouveau bientôt installé, reboot : idem.

Le boot s'arrête sur systemd target graphical… (Il faudrait que je refasse la photo, un peu pressée, je l'ai loupée elle est floue).

Il me semble que le log de Xorg indique toujours nVidia:

Il est de aujourd'hui 20h20, ça correspond.

Aurais-tu une autre idée ?

PS: je vérifie pour KMS, mais je crois qu'il faut que le cpu puisse le gérer ?

PS-2: je vérifie les différents points cités sur cette page: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Nouveau#KMS et je reviendrai donner les résultats ensuite.

Par contre, d'après ton log, tu démarres avec l'option vga (ligne kernel), ce qui est forcément incompatible avec KMS et ne te permet pas d'utiliser le pilote nouveau.

... mais sur le premier cas de figure, je ne comprends pas trop pourquoi le pilote proprio 340 ne démarre pas sinon (selon l'ordre d'installation/mise à jour, as-tu réinstallé le kernel ou au moins relancé mkinitcpio -p linux ?)... Si oui, peux-tu installer hwinfo et nous poster la sortie de hwinfo --gfxcard ?

Foolecho, je n'ai pas fait tout ce que tu me dis que j'aurais dû faire. Je vais m'y remettre demain, avec une autre machine à côté pour ne pas en louper.

Benjarobin, dmesg en single, pour dumper la sortie sur un pastebin, c'est un peu inconfortable pour moi et là je n'en vois pas dans /var/log (le dernier dmesg est-il stocké quelque part sous Arch ?).

PS: l'es coriace. J'ai fait "pacman -Qs nvidia" ou un truc du genre, trouvé des paquets oubliés à supprimer. refait mkinitcpio -p, rebooté, X ne démarre toujours pas. réinstallé xf86-video-nouveau, idem.

PS: j'ai supprimé les fichiers /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf et autres nvidia-backup du système, puis (refrain : reboot toujours rien), en root, un updatedb, puis un locate nvidia. J'ai trouvé deux fichiers dont "/usr/lib/libvdpau_nvidia.so" / pacman -Qo indiquait qu'il n'appartenait à aucun paquet : hop supprimé. Puis un autre qui appartenait à libva-vdpau-driver, je l'ai désinstallé, rebooté...

Tu devrais supprimer ces vieux fichiers (Old et Backup), mais tu fais ce que tu veux

Sinon il n'y a rien qui te choque dans la sortie ? Voir le fichier 01-monitor.conf

C'est ce que j'ai fait comme indiqué à "PS" dans mon message précédent. Je regarde le monitor.conf.

ah oui, il y a Nvidia partout dedans. Je met nouveau pour driver et hop ! J'ai retrouvé X.

Il ne faut surtout pas supprimer /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf !

/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/nvidia-drm-outputclass.conf appartient à xorg-server 1.16.1-1

Ah ok merci. Ça tombe bien j'ai désinstallé puis réinstallé xorg-server tout à l'heure, ce fichier a donc dû être réinstallé.
