:chinois:

@LeCrayonVert

Ok,seems it is not that easy to follow the arch packaging standards.

I will keep the minimum required kernel version the same as the rtl8192se release_note,and the maximum will be increased if someone reports it is working properly in a pre-released kernel version.

@alphazo

Acturally,you should try reinstalling before reporting.

I update the PKGBUILD as @LeCrayonVert suggested with no pkgrel changed,so,if someone want it,please re-makepkg it.

I just downloaded and installed/built both the rtl8192se and rtl8192se-firmware packages but when I run netcfg to start up a new wifi connection, I get the following errors caused by the fact that there are no entries in the /sys/class/rfkill directory.
:: wifi2 up  [BUSY]
cat: /sys/class/rfkill/*/name: No such file or directory
cat: /sys/class/rfkill/*/name: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/network//wireless: line 129: no rfkill switch with name phy0 /state: No such file or directory
ioctl[SIOCSIWAP]: Operation not permitted
[DON]
When I used previous versions of the packages, I only got the 'operation not permitted' message and that appeared harmless enough. With this new situation, I cannot shutdown the device and my only recourse is to reboot if I want to start over. I just downgraded the package to the one I had before which combined the base and firmware packages and that one does create a sym link in /sys/class/rfkill and I no longer get the errors.

What could be going on here? Is that a bug with the packages or do I need to set something else up to get the rfkill components to be defined in /sys/class/rfkill?

Have you got aircrack monitor mode working? Maybe consider applying/modifynig this patch? http://trac.aircrack-ng.org/ticket/826

Spending hours on this subject i doscovered that sometimes u need to restart, run depmod -a, watch your dmesg and ifconfig wlan0 up maually to get wifi working. I think it's worth to mention this in description.

I tried compat-wireless as well but rtlwifi mod from there failed to cooperate.
It's worth to mention that RTL8191SE-VA2 and RTL8192SE from realtek are identical.

techlive It is 2.6.27 not 2.6.37 in the release note ;)

It should be :

depends=('kernel26=2.6.27' 'kernel262.6.39' 'rtl8192se-firmware=2.6.0019.1207.2010')
makedepends=('kernel26-headers=2.6.27' 'kernel26-headers2.6.39')
