Bonjour a tous!!
Je suis désolé me mon Français se très limite.
I've moved in to Paris for a couple of years. I've been here for a month now and I would like to get internet access at my new place.
Is there any ISP but who does not include the "box" thing along with TV and phone?? I just want internet access and I would like to use my own router.
I guess there should be an option but couldn't find one nor anyone who knew.
I thought I could ask this question to the arch community as no one at work could actually tell me this.

Well... you just have to consider the options, indeed...
Just tell them precisely what you want... and what you don't want and it should be okay. Many of them include a box for renting but it's possible not to get it because it's just a common option, so you can refuse it (at worst, it's possible to return them the box and remove the option later).

Some ISP have offers with internet only. For instance SFR proposes internet only for 15.9 € / month. You can refuse the box and use your own router (that's what I do with an old Netgear DG834G and it works fine). Keep in mind that you'll have to pay for the telephone line (France telecom) and it's usually the case for other providers.

So it could be more interesting to choose an offer with internet + telephone. B&You proposes a 15.99 € offer but you wil have to buy their box.

Hum, I think this is wrong

If you wants only Internet you have the following options :

• Alice Box Initial
  • With France telecom line : 10 € /month
  • Without telecom line : 20 € /month
  • Tested with a Netgear without any problem
• bouygue : bbox (20 €) Never tested
• Freebox Crystal (29,99€) : Tested with a Netgear without any problem

I was speakinq about the SFR offer and I wrote that it is usually the case. In the link I gave, you will see that there are 2 offers without France Telecom (modulo: 22.9 € and coriolis: 19.8 €). So, the B&You offer remains the lowest one and it includes the telephone.

Is it clearer?
