Quand je fais un startx le "log" qui sors sur stderr c'est exactement ce que j'ai posté :

xinit: giving up

Et aucun fichier n'est créé dans /var/log.

En revanche en utilisant xinit exec xterm les logs de stdout/stderr je les ai déjà posté mais j'ai un log dans /var/log que voici en entier :

Et je me retrouve avec un écran éteint sur le tty2 tandis que xinit tourne sur le tty1 (et je peux lui envoyer une interruption sigint sans problème).

Bonjour
une petite question:
- A tu essaye de lancer startx en root, des fois qu'un fichiers aurait un mauvaise attribution des droits, j'ai deja eu le cas sur mon répertoire home , car j'avais modifie des fichiers en root, en sauvegardant il ont pris les droits root, donc vérifie si tu n'a pas des fichiers avec le propriétaire "root" dans ton répertoire home
- il y a un truc qui me semble bizarre , quand tu lance lspci

il te donne une carte intel,, alors que chez moi il me donne une GTX 1050,

startx t'indique normalement où est le log, mais il devrait se trouver dans le home de ton utilisateur ici: ~/.local/share/xorg/
Tu as manifestement la technologie optimus, donc tu devrais tourner sur la carte intel. Je n'avais pas fait attention mais tu as bien le module i915 de chargé

Non il n'y a aucun fichier root dans mon home et je n'ai pas lancé startx en root...

Comme il était indiqué dans le wiki :
La configuration de Xorg est automatique depuis xorg-server 1.8 et nul fichier supplémentaire n'est nécessaire depuis la 1.10.2 et nvidia-utils 275.09.07.
je n'avais rien déclaré dans le repertoire 20-nvidia.conf

En allant voir ce que j'avais dans xorg.conf par contre j'ai pu constater qu'il était vide, mais normalement cela ne pose pas de problème puisqu'il est censé être recréé au démarrage de startx.

Pour voir j'ai essayé de lancer nvidia-xconfig puis de relancer startx mais ça ne change rien.
Par contre xinit n'éteint plus l'écran, il fait juste un écran vide avec le prompt en haut a gauche.


benjarobin => Pour la troisième fois, tu as vu l'intégralité de ce que startx me renvoie et NON il n'indique pas où sont les logs puisqu'il n'indique rien.
Je n'ai même pas de répertoire .local dans mon home...

Du coup maintenant le mieux serait que je suive le tuto sur bumblebee => https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/bumblebee ?
Lors de ma dernière install d'arch j'ai souvenir que les drivers propriétaire nvidia avaient marché mais d'après le wiki j'aurais du installer bumblebee.
Ce qui m'embête c'est que dans mon BIOS ça ne parle ni d'Optimus ou "switchable graphics", je n'ai presque aucune options a part l'hyper threading et vmx / VT-d

Benjarobin : je vois qu'il utilise un fichier xorg.conf , dans /etc/X11/ mais d’après le wiki il
déconseille d’utiliser xorg.conf mais de créer un répertoire /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d

 se reporter aux sections suivantes pour les ajustements éventuels). De fait, 
 le /etc/X11/xorg.conf est à éviter désormais et il est préférable de rajouter 
 toute configuration supplémentaire et personnalisée dans /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/. 
 Pour s'y retrouver plus facilement, il est recommandé de consacrer un fichier par section 
 spécifique ou par périphérique (device.conf, monitor.conf, etc.).
Note : Depuis Xorg 1.16, la configuration par défaut de X est quant à elle contenue 
dans le répertoire /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/.
Ne pourrait-il pas y avoir un conflit , quand je fait un cat Xorg.0.log j'ai cette partie

je te met le lien du wiki en français il est legerement différent de l'anglais et il parle d'une soluce quant tu a un écran noir
