[Xorg] Double écran

Bonjour,

Je viens de recevoir mon nouveau joujou : un HP ProBook 13" avec un I5 Sandy-Bridge (donc avec une carte Intel 3000).

L'installation s'est bien passée (avec des ISO non officielles... ce serait bien que l'ISO officielle évolue un peu...). Installation de X et de Gnome, parfait. Gnome-Shell s'affiche correctement même si les déplacements de fenêtres ne sont pas très fluides. Je ne sais pas si c'est dû à Gnome ou au pilote Intel... On verra plus tard.

Là où ça se gâte sérieux, c'est quand je branche mon écran 23" sur la sortie VGA... Icelui est bien reconnu, je le place "au-dessus" de l'écran du portable avec l'appli de configuration des écrans mais, ensuite, c'est la panique totale.

Déjà, la notion de "bureau virtuel" disparaît totalement... c'est comme si l'écran externe était "en dehors" de ces bureaux virtuels...
Ensuite, pour une raison curieuse, si je fais glisser une appli de l'écran du portable vers l'écran extérieure, c'est comme si ce dernier était "coupé en 2" : la fenêtre semble coincée à gauche et impossible de la déplacer vers la moitié droite.

Bref, impratiquable...

J'ai donc forcé Gnome en mode restreint... c'est un peu mieux mais c'est pas encore ça : les fenêtres qui s'ouvrent sur l'écran extérieur sont toutes réduites à quelques colonnes et je suis systématiquement obligé de les agrandir à coup de Alt-F8...

Et puis, bon, je m'y suis fait, moi, à Gnome-Shell...

Je ne sais trop quoi donner comme infos supplémentaires...

Il pourrait être intéressant d'avoir les log de Xorg. De plus comment tu configure ton multi-écran ? Tu peux essayer avec arandr, mais je crains que le problème ne soit pas de ce côté.

Ben en fait, j'ai rien configuré du tout :)

J'ai simplement lancé l'appli "Affichage" des paramètres système de Gnome et j'ai placé les deux écrans l'un au-dessus de l'autre en vérifiant qu'ils avaient bien pris leur résolution maxi et que je n'étais pas en mode recopie... Donc, ceci explique peut-être cela...

En fait, j'espérais secrètement que tout marcherait du premier coup et je n'ai pas cherché à bidouiller quoi que ce soit. Il semblerait donc que je doive prendre mon bâton de pélerin pour aller trouver la solution...

Je n'ai pas étudié le Xorg.0.log mais le voici, au cas où il inspirerait quelqu'un (pour moi, X a toujours été du chinois)...

Au lieu de passer par Gnome pour configurer l'affichage, tu peux essayer arandr, cela ne coute rien.

pareil avec arandr... Le truc de Gnome, en fait, est rigoureusement la même chose que arandr, un bête frontal graphique à XRandr...

Mais je soupçonne le WM d'être le coupable car tout semble lié à la gestion des bureaux... On dirait qu'il se mélange les pinceaux entre les bureaux virtuels classiques (ceux que propose toute session Gnome) et l'écran supplémentaire.

Le problème est que je n'ai pas trop envie d'installer un autre WM rien que pour tester :(
