Bonjour à tous,

J'ai des petits soucis avec le driver nvidia depuis quelque temps ... Je n'ai pas eu le temps de m'en occuper jusqu'ici donc je ne pourrais pas vous dire à quand ça remonte. Au démarrage je me retrouve avec un écran noir et un tiret qui clignote, je switch de tty, me log en root et redémarre kdm et tout rentre dans l'ordre. Mais c'est un peu pénible à force.

Pour info, j'ai deux cartes identiques et quand je ne configure pas de 20-nvidia.conf, kdm démarre en 1024x768 et en restartant X ça reprend une résolution normale. Mais ça prend le comportement décrit plus haut quand je met un fichier de configuration aussi bateau que celui là :

Je crois que tu nous donnes le log de Xorg suite au redémarrage. Il est important de nous donner le log de Xorg avant que tu le relances.
Peux tu nous donner aussi la sortie de dmesg, la aussi avant de relancer X

Je dirais que ton PC démarre trop vite (lancer X au bout de seulement 3,4 secondes depuis le boot)... Et qu'il y a une dépendance qui n'est pas géré correctement.
Pour le confirmer peux tu désactiver kdm.service, comme ceci tu arriveras sur un tty. Puis tu te connectes en root et tu lances kdm.service.
Si cela fonctionne ma théorie est bonne... As tu un SSD ?

Effectivement j'avais la même impression puisque quand je fais un restart de kdm, tout se lance normalement... J'ai bien un ssd.

Sinon tu peux tenter de forcer le chargement du module nvidia avant que soit lancé kdm.service

Je viens de tester et effectivement ça fonctionne comme ça, je m'en doutais mais je voulais tester...
j'ai déjà essayé de désactiver kdm puis le réactiver pour essayer de remettre en place une dépendance cassée mais ça n'avais pas eu d'effet..
Peut-être faut-il modifier le kdm.service

Aucun rapport, il fallait juste lancer pacman en root.
Sinon tu peux tenter de forcer le chargement du module nvidia avant que soit lancé kdm.service
Pour cela tu as 3 tests possibles (Je ne sais pas quelle solution fonctionnera) :
  • Charger le module nvidia via :

    Code : Tout sélectionner

    echo nvidia > /etc/modules-load.d/nvidia.conf
  • Créer un service qui doit être lancé avant la target graphique et qui charge le module nvidia
  • Ajouter le module nvidia au fichier /etc/mkinitcpio.conf, ligne MODULES=""

Dans ce cas, sois très vigilant lors d'une mise à jour de linux et de nvidia en même temps, car la maj de nvidia se fait après celle de linux.

Tu as en effet 100 fois raison, c'est pour cela que j'avais mit la solution mkinitcpio en dernier.
J'avais proposé la 2ième solution, mais je ne savais pas comment l'implémenter. Maintenant je sais merci :-)
