Bonjour bonjour. :)

Me voilà car auparavant, j'avais le cliché de "Ouah c'est trop bien Linux ça démarrage en 10 secondes !", mais aujourd'hui avec Gnome 3, il me fait au moins 30 secondes entre le moment où le mode texte laisse place au mode graphique, et le moment où mon bureau est utilisable...
J'aimerai savoir s'il y a moyen de diminuer ce temps, au pire je ne ferrai pas de caprice, mais tant qu'à faire s'il y a moyen...

Je me suis tourné vers mon everything.log, et je vous fait partager la partie la plus essentielle, celle où il se passe peu de choses en une seconde :

Comme vous le voyez, la principale cause est NetworkManager. Il démarrage, il s'arrête, il redémarre j'ai l'impression... Ainsi qu'aussi mes partitions sont remontées, alors que bien entendu elles l'étaient déjà.

Je pense qu'il est utile de vous dire que je n'utilise pas l'IPv6 (c'est activé sur ma NeufBox mais à priori ça n'est pas disponible), ainsi que je n'utilise jamais les aides.

Je me demandais si le fait de virer GDM (un peu lourd je pense), lancer un auto-login (possible ?) et aussi faire un startx automatiquement (possible ?) ne peut pas accélérer ce temps ?

Je trouve le GDM de gnome3 particulièrement lent. Si tu es le seul utilisateur de ta machine, utiliser un gestionnaire de login graphique n'a pas beaucoup d'utilité... Dans ce cas un login texte suivi d'un startx (voir le tout automatisé dans ton .bash_profile) fera largement l'affaire.
La majorité des bugs se situe entre la chaise et le clavier...
Arrêtez de vous prendre la tête avec les partitions... passez au LVM

Je ne comprends pas tout. Qu'est-ce que tu trouvais lent avant :
- le temps entre le moment où Arch finit de démarrer et le moment où GDM te permet de te logger ?
- le temps entre le moment où tu te logges dans GDM et le moment où ton bureau est opérationnel ?
La majorité des bugs se situe entre la chaise et le clavier...
Arrêtez de vous prendre la tête avec les partitions... passez au LVM

Non ça va je trouve qu'entre Grub et le démarrage du serveur graphique ça va vite, mais oui entre le temps où GDM se lance et où le bureau est fonctionnel je trouve ça très long. :)

Si je comprends bien, le temps que tu trouves long, c'est le temps de démarrage de Gnome3 (le temps entre le moment où tu valides ton mot de passe dans GDM et le moment où ton bureau est fonctionnel ) ?
Si tu crées un utilisateur et que tu te loggues via celui-ci, combien de temps dure le démarrage de Gnome3 comparé au temps que tu mets toi ?

Alors pour la session de test, en environ 2 secondes j'étais déjà sur le bureau Gnome 3 avec Gnome-shell.
Et ma session il a environ eu 10 secondes le temps que Compiz et Docky chargent. :roll:

Désolé mais je n'utilise pas Gnome3 et encore moins Compiz et Docky...

Le réel soucis, c'est Compiz je viens de voir. Ah...

EDIT : N'utilisant plus Gnome 3, le problème est sans suite.
